Clearwater
If your version of a good vacation involves beach walks, frozen drinks, sunset dinners, and saying “we should just move here” at least once…Clearwater gets dangerously good at that. Some hotels feel chaotic. Some feel weirdly outdated. Some are perfect. These are the places I’d actually save first if I were planning a Clearwater trip right now — especially for beachfront views, couples trips, easy walkability, and that “I don’t want to go home yet” feeling.
My Favorite Places to Stay
The kind of places where you walk in, drop your bags, and instantly feel hotter and less stressed.Good views, easy beach access, drinks within walking distance, and that “wait…should we stay another night?” kind of energy.
Opal Sands Resort & Spa

If your vacation goal is to wake up, open the curtains, and immediately see nothing but ocean…this place gets dangerously good at that. The balconies here are insane. Big Gulf views, floor-to-ceiling windows, beach walks at sunset, drinks downstairs, and the kind of atmosphere that makes going home feel mildly disrespectful. It’s modern without feeling cold, walkable without feeling chaotic, and honestly one of those places that makes you start mentally calculating how much it would cost to live in Florida full time.
SANDPEARL RESORT

This one has a softer, slower kind of energy compared to some of the bigger Clearwater resorts.Think quiet beach mornings, coffee on the balcony, long walks by the water, and pool afternoons that somehow turn into sunset drinks without much effort. It still feels upscale, just in a more relaxed and understated way.
WYNDHAM GRAND CLEARWATER BEACH

If your goal is to be directly in the middle of everything without sacrificing the beach view, this is one of the best spots for it.You can walk to restaurants, bars, beach shops, late night drinks, and still end the night watching the ocean from your room like you suddenly became the main character of your own life.Very classic Clearwater vacation energy — in the best way.
Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Suites

This one feels especially good for longer stays or trips where you want the beach vacation vibe without feeling crammed into a tiny hotel room the entire time.Big views, great location, easy walkability, and enough space to actually settle in a little instead of living out of a suitcase for four days. The rooftop pool situation also deserves attention.
Shephard's Beach Resort

If your version of vacation includes live music, sunset cocktails, beach bars, and staying out a little later than you planned…this is probably your spot.Definitely more lively than some of the others on this list, but that’s kind of the point.Fun energy, walkable location, and the kind of place where “just one drink” becomes a whole night.
One Last Thing...Clearwater is one of those trips that starts as “we just needed a quick beach getaway” and ends with you halfway considering Zillow notifications for Gulf-front condos.Good sunsets, warm nights, beach bars, salty hair, and the kind of atmosphere that makes real life feel very far away for a little while. If you’re still deciding where to stay, I’d honestly save a few of these and compare views first. In beach towns like this, the hotel really does change the entire trip.
